ASR Africa Reconstructs Mallam Abdulkarim Jummat Mosque in Zaria

ASR Africa Monday commenced the reconstruction of the Mallam Abdulkarim Jummat Mosque in Zaria.

This event was  organised by the Zazzau Emirate Council under the leadership of the Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli.

The groundbreaking event marked the beginning of a remarkable journey and had in attendance distinguished personalities including the Chairman of ASR Africa and BUA Group, Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu, royal fathers, government officials, the Zazzau emirate council and members of the public.

The Governor of the state, Senator Uba Sani, who was the host, acknowledged the presence of the royal fathers especially Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto, as well as other special guests of honour including Abbas Tajudeen Speaker of the House of Representative, Mallam Balarabe Abass Lawal; Minister for Environment and Rabiu, Chairman ASR Africa and the BUA Group.

The governor expressed immense appreciation to everyone who has contributed to the reconstruction of the mosque and prayed for the blessings of the Almighty Allah on them.

He added that the edifice, which will serve not just as a place of worship, will attract tourist to the state.

The Emir of the Zazzau Emirate Council, Malam Bamalli, acknowledged the effort of the committee members who have worked tirelessly towards the reconstruction of the edifice. 

He specially thanked the Chairman of ASR Africa for taking up the huge financial responsibility of the re-construction of the mosque.

This architectural edifice was initially built in 1836 and was a testament of the rich history and architectural heritage of the region. 

Upon the collapse on August 10, 2023, the Chairman of ASR Africa, Rabiu, took up the reconstruction of the mosque to give a new significance to the region.

The mosque will accommodate a total of 2,000 worshippers on two floors, with a large courtyard space accommodating an extra 5,000 worshippers. 

Other facilities will include an ablution area, a library, ICT center and office spaces to provide administrative support to the mosque.

Other guests present at the event praised the Chairman of ASR Africa for his generosity and prayed for more persons to emulate his kind gesture towards humanity.
