Fintiri Presents N486n 2025 Budget

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has presented a budget proposal of N486 billion for the 2025 fiscal year. 

The governor  tagged it “Budget of Service,” aimed to foster economic growth in the state through various projects and programmes.

Fintiri, who presented the budget to the Adamawa State House of Assembly, stated that it was based on current economic realities. 

He emphasised the need for the budget to drive positive economic impact and change the standard of living for the people of Adamawa State.

He said the proposed budget was allocated into two main segments: recurrent expenditure and capital development. 

The recurrent expenditure is estimated at N137.2 billion, representing 28.23% of the total budget, while the capital development segment is allocated N348.9 billion, representing 71.77% of the total budget.

According to him, the Ministry of Works and Energy Development received the highest allocation of N88.8 billion, followed by the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development with N40.4 billion, and the Office of the Accountant General with N25.8 billion.

Fintiri further explained that the budget proposal was based on certain economic indicators, including an oil production benchmark, an oil price benchmark, and an exchange rate. 

The governor was optimistic that substantial funds would be received in the next fiscal year through world Bank and other funding agencies.
