The Corona Schools’ Trust Council has announced that Prof. Peter Okebukola will headline its educators’ forum as part of activities marking the 70th anniversary of the institution in 2025.

Speaking with journalists in Lagos recently, the Chief Executive Officer of Corona Schools Trust Council, Adeyoyin Adesina, stated that the educators’ forum aims to generate policies that would improve the education sector.

“We thought a worthy way of celebrating Corona at 70 is to focus on what our core business is – education. So, we are hosting the educators’ roundtable to bring together professionals and practitioners in the educational space to discuss the current state of the sector.

“What does our educational landscape look like? Where should we be in the next few years? Hopefully, we will come up with some thought-provoking ideas and policies that will impact the educational space and improve the overall quality of education in the country,” Adesina explained.

She also noted that as part of the celebrations, staff members will be recognised and rewarded for their contributions to the growth and success of the school since its inception in 1955.

“It is important to recognise and celebrate those who have worked tirelessly to build this organisation. We will celebrate our current staff and also invite former employees who have contributed to our success. Some individuals have worked here for 25 or even 30 years, and we are bringing them together for well-deserved recognition,” Adesina added.

To commemorate the remarkable occasion, the school has planned a series of events that will take place over the span of the 2024/2025 academic year.

The Chairperson of the Trust Council, Mrs. Ayaba Ayo-Joseph, who emphasized the significance of the educators’ forum, said there will be a keynote address by Prof. Peter Okebukola, followed by panel discussions on critical issues in education.
