Covenant University’s Lecturer Honored With HR Industry Impact Award

The Head of the Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management Unit at Covenant University, Dr. Opeyemi Joel, has been honoured with the prestigious HR Industry Impact Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to shaping the HR profession. 

The award ceremony was the highlight of the 2024 HR Conference and Community Fest, hosted by HR Talent Hub NG, under the leadership of Dr. Omotola Adedapo.

The award according to organisers, was in recognition of the lecturer’s outstanding contributions to the HR sector in the country.

“Her dedication to fostering organisational learning and her ability to build effective relationships have elevated the department’s influence in both academic and professional spheres. Her journey from assistant lecturer to head of unit reflects a rise in leadership and a sustained commitment to empowering others through impactful teaching and mentorship. 

“The Industry Impact Award celebrates leaders whose efforts have left a measurable mark on the HR community. Dr. Joel’s leadership inspires excellence, equipping her students and peers to take on challenges in dynamic work environments,” the organiser said.

The HR Excellence Awards 2024 with the theme ‘Evolve. Ignite. Impact’, brought together HR leaders, professionals and stakeholders to spotlight the transformational role of HR in today’s workplaces.

For Adedapo, the recognition underscores Dr. Joel’s belief in continuous learning and innovation as the backbone of organisational success. 

She noted that Joel’s contributions at Covenant University resonate far beyond academia, establishing her as a trailblazer in the field of HR management.
