Multiple clips from the exclusive screening of ‘The Waiter’ still trending days after the event, showing the cast and guests who had turned out to see the comedy-drama. Best described as a dazzling night of glamour, laughter, and heartfelt moments, stars lit up the premiere of ‘The Waiter’, the highly anticipated film by cerebral entertainer and filmmaker, Ayo Makun, simply known as AY.

Held at Livespot Entertarium, Lekki, Lagos, the red carpet sparkled with the presence of Nollywood’s finest and prominent figures from the entertainment industry.  The evening kicked off with a star-studded red carpet event, where celebrities brought their A-game in jaw-dropping outfits. AY, the comedic genius who executive produced the film, arrived in style, expressing his excitement for the film, which officially hit cinemas nationwide yesterday Friday, December 20.

“I’m thrilled to share this story with the world. ‘The Waiter’ is not just a comedy but as we have always done with the Akpos film series, the film has many teachable moments that we can learn from as individuals and as a country. It is a tale about resilience, humility, and finding one’s purpose in unexpected places,” AY said.

Also speaking, producer of the film, Darlington Abuda described ‘The Waiter’ as the best in the roll call of Akpos franchise yet. “If you have followed the Akpos movies, which has paraded some of Nollywood’s finest; you will know that we always have something up our sleeves.

This time around, we have ramped up the action elements in the movie to make it more enthralling.

“Producing ‘The Waiter’ was more than just bringing a story to life—it was about crafting an experience that resonates deeply with the audience, leaving a lasting impression long after the credits roll,” he said. In the ‘The Waiter’, Akpos (AY) having enjoyed the thrills of Jamaica and savoured the weather of Sun City in South Africa finds himself waiting in a five star hotel.

While on duty, a group of heavily armed men invade the hotel, take everyone hostage and hoping to make a statement that will jolt the federation.  Akpos finds himself as the last line as he sets out to free the hostages. What follows is a night of humour, drama, and life lessons.  The movie stars Deyemi Okanlawon, Shaffy Bello, Toke Makinwa, Williams Uchemba, Regina Daniels and more.
