Akume Delivered Benue to Tinubu in 2023, Benue Stakeholders Declare

•Reject call for his removal as SGF

All Progressives Congress (APC) Stakeholders in Benue State, have passed a vote of confidence on the Secretary to the FGovernment of the Federation, Senator George Akume,whom the described as a visionary leader, who led the party to victory in Benue State in 2023 and still poised to do so in 2027.

The party leaders also condemned the recent call by a group in the state for the removal of Akume as SGF.

Addressing the media at the end of the APC stakeholders meeting held on Sunday in Makurdi, Senator Jack Gyado and the leaders decried the factionalisation of the party in the state and urged all members to form a united front and rally round Akume, whom they insisted led the party to victory in 2023 general election.

“Senator Akume remains our leader and we condemn any call by any group or persons for his removal as SGF because we are happy with position and we do not want any other position.

“He led us in 2023 and ensured that APC took Benue and delivered the state to President Bola Tinubu and we will remain resolute in our support for President Tinubu,” they maintained.

The leaders also declared support for Mr. Austin Agada to lead a united APC in the state and urged members of the party to queue behind the Agada leadership.

They also endorsed President Tinubu to run in the 2027 election, assuring him that they would mobilise the state “to ensure that we give him 100 percent in the election.”

They thanked Tinubu for the all the appointments given to the people of the state, and assured him that, “Senator Akume will lead us to deliver Benue and all North Central states to the APC in the coming elections.”
