The suspected killer of a former Niger State Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Works, Adamu Jagaba, Fatiyah Abdulkhareem, has died.

Abdulkhareem died at the Minna General Hospital last Thursday after complaining of stomach ache where he was allegedly rushed to for medical treatment.

It was learnt that the suspect, who had while in police custody confessed to committing the crime for which he was arrested, died while receiving treatment at the Minna General Hospital.

His remains have been deposited at the General Hospital morgue awaiting post mortem examination.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police Wasiu Abiodun, when contacted, confirmed the story.

On December 7, Fatiyah Abdulkhareem was said to have entered the office of the retired Permanent Secretary located at the Western bypass area of Minna where he stabbed the deceased several times and also hit him on the head with a stapler resulting in his death.

Abdulkhareem, who was said to be a car painter, ran away with the Toyota Camry car belonging to the victim.

He was, however, arrested later same day after he had sold the car to yet-to-be named person.

Since his arrest, it was gathered that Abdulkhareem had been in police custody before complaining of ‘ill health’ and was rushed to the Minna General Hospital where he died.
