Remain Selfless, GOC 81 Division Charges Newly Promoted Senior Officers

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Farouk Mijinyawa, has charged newly promoted senior officers in the division to redouble their efforts in their new ranks.
The GOC stated this during the decoration ceremony of newly promoted senior officers of the division, which was held at 81 Division Officers’ Mess, Outer Marina, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The GOC while congratulating the officers on their elevation, emphasised that their promotion was a testament to their hard work, loyalty, dedication, and service to the Nigerian Army in particular and the Nation at large.
The GOC urged the newly promoted officers to remain selfless. He reminded them that promotion comes with immense responsibilities and that the Army expects them to lead by example.
General Mijinyawa also urged the senior officers to prioritise the welfare of their troops and families, ensuring that the benefits of their new ranks are utilised to improve the well-being of their families.
After the investiture, Brigadier General Mohammed Usman delivered the vote of thanks on behalf of the newly promoted senior officers.
He expressed gratitude to the Almighty God, the Army Council, and the COAS for finding them worthy of the promotion. He also thanked the GOC for his guidance and leadership.
The ceremony was attended by senior officers, family members, friends, and well wishers. The investiture ceremony featured the decoration of two Brigadier Generals, 12 Colonels, and four Lieutenant Colonels.
