Ife Akinmoyo, the granddaughter of Former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday unveiled a documentary she titled, ‘The OBJ Unscripted.’
The documentary’s screening took place at Ebony Life Place and offered a rare glimpse into the expository everyday life of one of Nigeria’s most respected leaders.

As part of the premiere events an exclusive round table discussion with the former president and select youth leaders was held prior to the screening.
The discussion was an opportunity for the youths to connect personally with the former president in what turned out to be an inspiring engagement that birthed insights and motivation to continue to pursue the Nigeria of our dreams.

The former president spoke at length in reply to the questions he was asked during the roundtable discussion and ensured he was precise with giving his audience the right answers to what was asked. Hosted by Sade Onabowale, the host of Bridging The Gap, a podcast aimed at closing the knowledge gap in Nigeria, the discussion was enlightening.

Speaking about what inspired the project, Ife disclosed that, “On a normal day I work in finance as I am a banker but this year I embarked on an exciting journey titled, OBJ Unscripted and it’s a short documentary that gives viewers a sneak peek into the life of my grand pa.

“I kind of wanted people to see him as a regular man and who he is just outside of the concept of a global leader and politician everyone knows him as. So in the video, you would see him playing squash and see him being him. But you would still get to see that even when he tries to be him all the other responsibilities of who he is still play a big role in every part of his day. I hope the documentary inspires people to push their God giving gifts and dreams.”
Ife added that, “My grandpa acts with a sense of urgency as for him each seconds count to help humanity and everyone. He really believes in his purpose in life and that’s something everyone can draw inspiration from. So tomorrow is not promised so do everything you want to do tomorrow today.”
