Ruthwiphdale Foundation Donates to Orphanage
Christmas celebration was recently made easier for Children of Compassionate Orphanage, Isheri/LASU Road, Lagos, as a result of donations of money and clothes by Ruthwiphdale Foundation, a charity arm of Ruthwiphdale Schools.
While many highbrow primary and secondary schools around the country were busy increasing fees to meet the ever-growing administrative cost as a result of rising prices, Ruthwiphdale Schools, an upscale institution that combines Nigeria and British curriculum located in Lagos has chose to be different.
For the past 10 years, the school has been making donations to orphanages in money and material through its charity, Ruthwiphdale Foundation.
The London-trained proprietress of the school, Mrs. Adenike Odetola, in a statement, said before the downturn in the economy currently being witnessed across the country, “We had chosen to play up our social responsibility through the Ruthwiphdale Foundation, and we decided to adopt Compassionate Orphanage where we give money, material and counseling to the orphans among other things annually for the past ten years.”
Odetola who is an expert in Early Years Learning with over 35 years experience in leading British schools said giving back to the community where she operates is an important decision she can never regret.
She said, “the Foundation visits the orphanage twice a year to issue cheques based on the money raised for it, but from time to time, we send donations from parents and pupils of Ruthwiphdale Schools to the orphanage. These donations include food and clothing items among others.
”About a decade ago, we decided to start extending compassion to the needy, and given our passion for education we decided to adopt Compassionate Orphanage as our place of primary attention. Ruthwiphdale Foundation offers supports to the Orphanage through the efforts of our learners and parents who generously raise funds, foodstuff, and others.
“It is customary to offer support to our Orphanage in December leading to Christmas break, when our esteemed parents donate foodstuff, clothing, others, generously towards supporting our adopted orphans.
“Despite the economic downturn in the country, our parents and learners have not held back but generously donated once again. God bless them all. To our learners, we are planting the seed of ‘giving and receiving’ in them and we pray the seed will germinate a hundredfold.”
