iCart Africa, a subsidiary of the Dalsman Group, is setting new standards in the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) industry by upgrading its solar-powered kiosks to offer advanced features for small food businesses. Since its launch three years ago, the company has worked to empower food entrepreneurs with practical and sustainable solutions to everyday challenges.
In its earlier versions, the kiosks were designed to address two major issues—unreliable electricity and maintaining hygiene standards. However, the latest models go a step further, incorporating innovative features such as a digital food delivery system, an easy-to-use accounting solution, EV charging ports, and even advertising panels for extra income.
Speaking on this development, Usman Dalhatu, CEO of iCart Africa, explained, “We listened to the needs of food vendors and realized they required more than just a reliable source of power. The upgraded kiosks are built to help them operate smarter and more efficiently, while also opening up new revenue streams.”
The digital food delivery system allows entrepreneurs to connect with customers online, helping them expand their reach beyond walk-in traffic. Additionally, the built-in inventory management and accounting tools simplify financial management, enabling vendors to track sales, manage expenses, and make better business decisions. The inclusion of EV charging ports is a forward-looking step that reflects iCart Africa’s commitment to sustainability and innovation. With electric vehicles slowly gaining traction in urban areas, the kiosks now offer a much-needed solution to the lack of charging infrastructure.
The advertising panels are another thoughtful addition, giving business owners the opportunity to earn extra income by displaying ads for local brands and services. Dalhatu noted, “These panels provide a way for vendors to make the most of their kiosk space. It’s about giving them more opportunities to grow.”
“iCart Africa also continues to offer an AI-powered location selection tool, which uses data like foot traffic and local demand to help entrepreneurs find the best locations for their kiosks. This data-driven approach removes the guesswork from business setup and ensures vendors are positioned for success” Dalhatu explained.
In addition to its innovative features, the kiosks remain solar-powered, cutting down on energy costs and ensuring operations are not disrupted by power outages. This focus on sustainability aligns with the company’s broader mission of reducing environmental impact while supporting small businesses.
“Our goal is to bridge the gap for small food entrepreneurs who often struggle with infrastructure and operational challenges,” Dalhatu said. “With these new features, we are not just solving problems but creating opportunities for long-term growth.”
