World boxing champion, Anthony Joshua knocks out luxury; visits iconic LucreziaBySujimoto project
The fully automated, almost sold-out 22-unit luxury home, which is reserved for the 1% of the 1%, has decided to be knocked out by the pride of this generation. Location, architecture, and lifestyle welcomed the British Ogun-blood boxer into the new address for luxury living in Banana Island, where many testified that the standard they have seen at the Lucrezia by Sujimoto is far better than some of the apartments they’ve visited in London or Dubai.
Anthony Oluwafemi Joshua, British boxer of Nigerian heritage who holds four major titles – the WBA (Super) Heavyweight Championship, IBF Heavyweight championship, Commonwealth Heavyweight Championship, and the WBO Heavyweight title. His record of 26 wins, 22 Knockouts, 0 draws are simply outstanding. Almost like the edifice- The Lucrezia, where he was standing on the 2nd of January, 2025. The Ijebu boy has been undefeated but today, The Lucrezia has magnificently decided to challenge the champion.
One could easily tell from the contagious smile on the champion’s face that he took an uppercut by the architectural beauty of the building, accompanied by his family, nieces, cousins, nephews and his beautiful mother who shared in the building’s quick jabs as they had only but pleasant words to describe the feeling the Champion Lucrezia gives.
The dynamic and driven boxer, who has succeeded in placing Nigeria’s name on the global market has made it a tradition to reinforce his deep-rooted connections with home. Even during the festive Christmas period, when he could easily have jetted off to glamorous destinations like Dubai, New York, or Miami to party with his friends, Anthony Joshua chooses to stay close to his roots to inspire generations through numerous community projects, including his plan to build the biggest Boxing Academy in Ogun State, a place where young people will not only learn the art of boxing but also the principles of discipline and how to become great leaders.
I was truly delighted to be invited by my mentor and friend, His excellency Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, to the Abiodun family’s prestigious January 1st launch. It was at this unforgettable event that I had the privilege of meeting the renowned Anthony Joshua, who was also in attendance. Despite his exhaustion from a long day, AJ spent over an hour smiling and interacting with everyone—from billionaires to children, waitstaff to fans—without hesitation. His humble nature was on full display as he even took selfies with his own phone.
This moment revealed the core of his strength: his humility paired with his unwavering dedication to excellence that truly sets him apart. He is both a world champion and a down-to-earth, unassuming individual. The New Year Launch, an unforgettable event, brought together the elite of society, sharing the spotlight with Alhaji Aliko Dangote, over 12 governors, business moguls, fashion entrepreneurs, and many other distinguished guests.
I was absolutely thrilled when I first met the elegant Mrs. Yeta Odusanya, who greeted me with warmth and said, “Sujimoto, I know you, we love your apartment, and we’re coming to see it.” This was the beginning of a lasting conversation, as I had the honor of staying in touch with Anthony Joshua’s gracious mother while she planned to visit the Lucrezia.
She was excited to experience our luxury firsthand, eager to see that what we offer at Sujimoto rivals the finest in Dubai, New York, or London. Throughout our communication, Mrs. Odusanya was nothing short of courteous, consistently updating us with their progress. Her warmth, politeness, and sincere apologies for any delays truly exemplified the grounded nature of their family. They are truly remarkable, humble, and down-to-earth people.
In a time when many are quick to criticize Nigeria and point out the inefficiencies of its government, there is one individual who stands out in celebration of it. Anthony Joshua, with the option to relax in the comfort of London, chooses instead to immerse himself in the heart of his homeland, traveling from town to town, using his platform to inspire and uplift the next generation.
I was equally delighted to learn that Anthony Joshua embodies these same principles in his personal life. His firm, resilient background, investment acumen, and sense of responsibility instilled by his beautiful mother from a young age, are qualities that glare through his smiles . Our conversation went beyond boxing, touching on AJ’s keen interest in investing, particularly in real estate. The quintessential Ijebu boy—forever negotiating his way through life, always ensuring he strikes a deal for everything he does has already made several significant investments in the sector, showcasing his sharp business sense and long-term vision for success.
After a long day of taking some hard punches in training, this is the perfect place to come back to and enjoy the soft life. It’s evident that, unlike many athletes who may squander their earnings, AJ is making strategic, calculated moves in real estate. In fact, rumor has it that he owns over 50 apartments across the United Kingdom, Dubai, and various other parts of the world. He recognizes that real estate is not just a sound investment—it’s the future. Throughout our conversation, he asked insightful questions about real estate opportunities, further proving his commitment to making smart, lasting investments.

As we discussed the success of Lucrezia, I shared that those who invested early at 850k are now seeing their properties sell for 3 million. Anthony Joshua, taken aback, exclaimed, “Wow, where was I during that time?” His astonishment speaks to the incredible potential and opportunity in the real estate market, with the 36-floor LeonardoBySujimoto off-plan building opportunity further validating the vision behind Sujimoto’s audacious projects.

AJ’s visit and actions are an inspiration to athletes worldwide, especially those in Nigeria, demonstrating that real estate presents valuable opportunities for investment. His humility and commitment are the qualities that elevate him as a champion—both in and out of the ring. Among over 8 billion people, he stands as one of the top 5 boxers in the world, yet he remains grounded and focused on raising others along with him. I urge every Nigerian, both at home and abroad, to support the nation’s pride as Anthony Joshua returns to the ring in 2025.
