PAC Foundation proudly announces the successful conclusion of Girls Can Code 2.0, the second edition of its tech upskilling program for young Nigerian women.
This initiative underscores the Foundation’s commitment to bridging the gender gap in technology and equipping participants with valuable skills in high-demand fields relevant to thrive in a competitive global economy.
“We are immensely proud of the success of Girls Can Code 2.0,” said Omolola Ojo, Executive Secretary, PAC Foundation. “These young women are the future of technology in Africa, and our mission is to ensure they are equipped to lead, innovate, and transform their communities.”
This year’s program welcomed 50 participants from across Nigeria, including Lagos, Abuja, Rivers, Oyo, Akwa Ibom, Jos, Delta and Kano offering comprehensive training in Data Analytics, Data Science, and Web Development delivered.
For over six months, participants received comprehensive training in Data Analytics, Data Science, and Web Development, complemented by 30 hours of industry mentorship, networking opportunities, and career support.
One participant, Adebiyi Pelumi, a Web Development graduate, shared her experience: “PAC Foundation supported me throughout the program, from the course itself to the free data provided—it was truly helpful. The CV writing virtual seminar was an eye-opener, and the facilitators who guided us on our chosen course were incredibly enlightening.”
Another beneficiary, Innocentia Ekechukwu, remarked: “The skills I have acquired so far will enable me adapt in organizations where I’m supposed to play the role of a leader both online and offline. The organizational skills, emotional intelligence, time management, communication and strategic thinking skills I acquired from this program will be an added advantage while working in any job environment.”
The program’s impact is already evident, with participants like Fumnanya Ntoka, a Data Analytics graduate, securing a paid project early in her career. “Imagine what she and the other women can achieve with time and continued support,” said Dominic Joshua, Programs and Partnerships Officer at PAC Foundation. “Girls Can Code is more than just a program—it’s a movement to ensure young women are integral players in the digital economy. We’re building a pipeline of talent that will redefine the tech landscape in Africa and beyond.”
“We extend our gratitude to program sponsors, partners, and mentors who made this edition a resounding success.” Omolola added. “We’re already planning the next iteration, with an expanded curriculum and wider outreach to impact even more lives.”
PAC Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to bridge the gender gap in the tech industry.
Girls Can Code is a shining testament to this commitment, providing aspiring female tech professionals with the skills, mentorship, and support they need to excel.
