ISD Elects New Executives, Inaugurates General Assembly, Council of Emissaries in Nigeria

The International Society of Diplomats (ISD) Nigeria has elected its national leadership to drive its vision and mission, aimed at contributing positively towards the economic growth and sustainable development of the host country, Nigeria.

Its Country Director, Prof. Edet Ekpenyong, in a statement issued Saturday announced the emergence of some key leaders following the formal inauguration of ISD’s General Assembly and Council of Emissaries in Nigeria by the Secretary General, Amb. Manuel Fernandez.

He noted that the newly elected officials includes: Dr. Dan Okekenta – Mayor, Council of Emissaries and Speaker, ISD General Assembly in Nigeria; Princess Hanadi Marwan – Deputy Mayor/Deputy Speaker; Charity Kaniye-Ebeku – Clerk of the Council and Prof. Aliyu Idris – Deputy Clerk.

Ekpenyong added: “In the same vein, some eminent personalities were also elected as Chairmen, Deputy Chairmen and members of the various Standing Committees.”

Speaking at the inauguration, Okekenta reaffirmed ISD’s unwavering commitment in fostering international collaboration in peace building in order to contribute positively in curbing conflicts in the society.

ISD is a globally recognised organisation dedicated to advancing global diplomacy through friendship, trade and investment and peace building.

Officially launched in Nigeria on December 17, 2024, ISD is poised to provide a sustainable platform for individuals and organisations to resolve conflict and promote economic development, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
