Argungu Assures of Advancing Policies That Will Promote Transparency, Stability in Electricity Trading

The Board Chairman, Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET) company, Dr. Sulaiman Argungu has reaffirmed his commitment to advancing policies that would promote stability, transparency, and innovation in electricity trading, with a strong focus on sustainable and renewable energy solutions.

Argungu, who is also the National Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) stated this Tuesday when he visited NBET’s headquarters on Tuesday in Abuja.

The meeting had in attendance the Acting Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Johnson Akinnawo, along with the Board of Directors and senior management staff of the company.

Argungu in a statement issued Wednesday by Special Assistant, Sani Galadima expressed appreciation for the warm reception extended to him and his entourage.

He acknowledged NBET’s vital role in the electricity sector and pledged to work closely with the Board and management to improve electricity trading and supply in Nigeria.

Furthermore, he underscored the importance of collaboration among stakeholders in order to align with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, while ensuring sustainable progress and efficiency in the sector.

Speaking during the familiarisation visit, the acting Akinnawo formally introduced Argungu to the Board and provided a detailed overview of NBET’s operations, strategic objectives, and ongoing initiatives.

He emphasised NBET’s critical role in maintaining a stable and efficient electricity trading framework in Nigeria while highlighting the Board’s efforts to enhance the country’s power sector.
