Again, Rumours of Actress Chika Ike, Ned Nwoko Swell

Except for the news of her marital crisis which left her single years ago, Nollywood star Chike Ike always pops up good and with positive news in recent past. If it’s not for one cinema project or brand-related launch of hers, it’s her glam and red carpet moment trending on social media.

The actress/filmmaker was in the news a couple of days back after she excitedly announced that she was expecting a baby. Her pregnancy post generated mixed reactions from fans and colleagues. Pictures of her baby bump accompanying her post online sort of gave credence to it.

While many congratulated her, there were those whose concern focused on the paternity of the unborn child, such that it gained traction and took over social media like wildfire. Soon, speculations trumped Ike’s status, linking popular Senator, Ned Nwoko to her pregnancy.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time Ike and Nwoko have been romantically linked to be in a relationship. In 2020, a viral video insinuated that the actress had been in a relationship with the politician before he married Regina Daniels, another Nollywood actress, as his 6th wife.

Ike had denied the rumours at the time, stating that she would never be anyone’s seventh wife. Just like this time, the rumours swell again that Ned plans to take Ike as his seventh wife amid the pregnancy rumours which further gained momentum after Ned’s wife, Regina Daniels, deactivated her Instagram account.

Adding to the heightened speculations, Regina was noticeably silent. Build up to that, she also did not post any Valentine’s Day tribute to Ned, which was a deviation from her usual social media activity. Ned never ceases to praise Regina since he married her in May 2019.

Ned, a well-known public figure, has been the subject of numerous rumors and jokes of late, especially concerning his polygamous marriage to Regina Daniels, categorically denied the latest allegations as “entirely baseless and a product of malicious speculations”.

Understandably, “As a public figure and with his wife also being an actress, it is not unusual for bloggers seeking attention to fabricate such stories,” Nwoko avowed.

Interestingly too, Chika Ike has dismissed same, describing it as guessing games, saying, “Ned isn’t the father of my child and whoever name you might come up with later with your guessing games and like I’ve said before I’m not about to be anyone’s 7th wife!

“Polygamy isn’t for me. I’ve been pregnant for months now and no one even had a clue about my pregnancy until I announced it and you all think you’ll know who the father of my child is or anything happening in my life? Very laughable and clueless!”

 Who then is responsible for her pregnancy? Is it some sort of insemination or In vitro fertilization pregnancy? As it seems, the peaceful, private Chike Ike would prefer people guessing while she basks in the euphoria of her pregnancy. That’s all that matters her now.
