SystemSpecs Invites Entries for Children’s Day Essay Competition

SystemSpecs has announced  its 6th Annual Children’s Day Essay Competition (CDEC), inviting young Nigerians to articulate their vision for leveraging technology in mobilizing their peers for national development.

This year’s theme, “How I Would Use Technology to Mobilize My Peers for a Greater Nigeria,” challenges students to explore how digital tools can foster social change, economic growth, and improved governance. The competition, open to primary and secondary school students aged 9 to 16, seeks original and actionable ideas that showcase technology’s role in inspiring young people to contribute to national progress.

According to the organization, the CDEC is its flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative that seamlessly integrates technology, education, and leadership, equipping young minds with the skills and vision needed to shape Nigeria’s future.

Executive Director, Corporate Services at SystemSpecs, Bukola Adeboye emphasized the competition’s role in fostering critical thinking and leadership among young Nigerians.

“Nigerian children represent a dynamic force that will shape the country’s future through innovation, inclusivity, and accountable leadership,” Adeboye said. “By encouraging them to rethink the role of technology in influencing their peers, we are not only cultivating creativity but also instilling a sense of duty towards tangible social progress, “she said.

She further highlighted the crucial role of parents, teachers, and school administrators in nurturing young minds. “Engaging children in discussions about societal issues and encouraging independent thought can help translate their insights into real-world solutions,” she noted.

She added that the contest opened till April 11, is part of  the company’s broader effort to promote digital literacy, critical thinking, and problem-solving among Nigerian students.

“Winning entries, selected based on originality, feasibility, and clarity, will be announced and celebrated on Children’s Day, May 27, 2025”, she explained.

As technology continues to reshape industries and redefine traditional learning models, initiatives like the CDEC provide a platform for students to develop skills essential for an increasingly digital world.
