Ibaragun Mini-Grid Project Brings Reliable, Clean Energy to Thousands

In a groundbreaking ceremony, Darway Coast, in partnership with All On and the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP), has officially launched the Ibaragun mini-grid project, revolutionising energy access for the rural community in Ogun State.

This innovative project, financed by All On through its Demand Aggregation for Renewable Technology (DART) programme, brings a 500KW solar-powered mini-grid to the Ibaragun community, providing consistent and eco-friendly electricity to thousands of residents. The mini-grid is engineered to deliver dependable electricity, while significantly reducing carbon dioxide emissions, promoting environmental sustainability.

The Ibaragun mini-grid project exemplifies the transformative power of clean energy in boosting productivity and enhancing the quality of life for rural communities. By delivering cost-effective and reliable electricity, this project paves the way for economic development, providing vital support to local businesses, public institutions, and residents.

Darway Coast, an indigenous renewable energy company, has demonstrated its expertise and dedication to improving energy access in Nigeria’s underserved regions. All On, an independent impact investing company, has been instrumental in fostering the development of sustainable energy infrastructure across the region. Okediji noted that through initiatives like the DART programme they were scaling distributed renewable energy (DRE) solutions and supporting developers in delivering impactful and community-led energy projects, thereby “creating economic opportunities across Nigeria and the continent.”
