Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy Announces Date for Lagos Leadership Summit 2025 Edition, Opens Nominations for Governor’s Award

The Lagos Leadership Summit (LLS) returns in 2025 with a bold commitment to redefining leadership through inclusivity and responsive governance.
Scheduled for April 16th and 17th, 2025, the summit will take place at the Konga Place, Oba Elegushi Beach Road, Lekki, Lagos, bringing together an esteemed assembly of policymakers, business executives, and young visionaries to explore the theme: Transformative Leadership: Developing Responsive, Adaptive and Inclusive Models.

Organised by the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy (LJLA) in collaboration with the Lagos State Government, this highly anticipated event is a platform designed to inspire, empower and connect the next generation of visionary leaders.

The 2024 maiden edition of the Lagos Leadership Summit set the bar high, drawing participation from over 5000 industry leaders and enthusiasts in government, business, education and technology sectors.

The summit fostered thought-provoking dialogues and knowledge-sharing sessions that have since inspired impactful initiatives across Nigeria.
Building on the success of last year’s summit, the Lagos Leadership Summit 2025 promises an even more dynamic experience with exclusive roundtable discussions, fireside chats, masterclasses, workshops, thematic keynote speeches and high-level networking opportunities.

With an audience of policymakers, industry executives, and emerging leaders, the summit promises to facilitate cross-sector dialogues, addressing the most pressing leadership challenges and co-creating actionable solutions for building more inclusive and sustainable societies.

Lagos State Governor and Chief Host of the Lagos Leadership Summit, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, remarked, “The 2025 Lagos Leadership Summit is a pivotal platform for nurturing transformative leadership and fostering inclusive models that drive sustainable development. As Lagos continues to position itself as a beacon of innovation and progress, this summit presents an opportunity to harness collective wisdom and empower the next generation of leaders to champion positive change in our communities.”

Speaking on the significance of this year’s summit, the Executive Secretary of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy, Ayisat Agbaje-Okunade, stated, “The Lagos Leadership Summit is more than just a summit, it is a golden opportunity to be part of a redefining moment in leadership. It offers a platform to learn, unlearn, and relearn ideas that challenge the status quo, drive innovative solutions, and foster meaningful connections that build lifelong alliances.”
A key highlight of the Lagos Leadership Summit is the prestigious Lagos State Governor’s Award for Social Impact, an initiative designed to honour individuals making tangible differences in their communities.

The award recognizes those actively driving positive change across critical sectors, including education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, and gender equity. The 2024 Governor’s Award for Social Impact celebrated Tunde Onakoya, Founder of Chess in Slums Africa, and Abosede George-Ogan, Founder of Women in Leadership Advancement Network (WILAN), whose remarkable contributions continue to inspire social transformation across Nigeria.
For the first time, public nominations are open for the Governor’s Award for Social Impact, encouraging citizens to spotlight exceptional individuals who are driving innovative solutions and making real, measurable change in the society.

The summit registration portal is now open, and participants are encouraged to secure their spots early as attendance is expected to exceed last year’s turnout. Members of the public are also invited to submit nominations for the Governor’s Award to recognize deserving change-makers continuing the legacy of impactful leadership in Lagos State.
