Volleyball: NGO Dr. Krystal Chanchangi Foundation Empowers FCT Youths With Physical Fitness, Talent Discovery
A non-governmental organisation, Dr. Krystal Chanchangi Foundation has successfully held a spotting tournament, aiming to empower residents of the nation’s capital Abuja with physical exercise while also using it as a tool to harness talents in sporting, especially volleyball.
The tournament which held at the Abuja national stadium, now MKO Abiola Stadium involved only youth corps members between the ages of 19-27.
Featuring a total of 24 players, the game was adjudged highly successful, with closer coordination of Mr. Enbago Joseph, the Sports coordinator of Dr. Krystal Chanchangi Foundation and his colleague Ibrahim Yusuf the outreach coordinator.
The exercise which took place in collaboration with the Office of the SSA to the President on Youth & Diaspora and Police Committee held at the popular MO Arena Wuse in FCT Abuja, with winners going home with huge sums of money.
This is not the first time the foundation was embarking on a sporting festival aimed at empowering individuals and groups. Last year, in advancement of the Foundation’s commitment to selfless community service, especially in the area of access to quality education, sports , culture and hunger relief.
It took place in collaboration with the Office of the SSA to Nigerian President on humanitarian affairs, and SSA Youth & Diaspora Affairs of Police Community Relations Commitee and held at the popular MO Arena Wuse in FCT Abuja, with winners going home with huge sums of money.
Competing teams took part in various sporting activities, specifically, football and basketball.
The winning team in female category (basketball) went home with the sum of N200,000 ( Two hundred thousand naira) while the second runner up champions pocketed N100,000 ( One hundred thousand Naira).
