Bode Maxwell-Akinyemi Leaves Vatebra to Explore New Opportunities

Olabode Maxwell-Akinyemi, fondly known as Bode, has announced his resignation as Business Manager of Vatebra Academy at Vatebra Limited, effective March 3, 2025. Vatebra Limited is an ICT company with competency in the delivery of cutting-edge software solutions for businesses, organizations and individuals, having presence in over 3 African countries including Kenya, Rwanda and Sierra Leone with HQ in Nigeria. At just 29 years old, Maxwell-Akinyemi leaves behind a remarkable legacy of innovation, leadership, and impact in Nigeria’s technology education and business development landscape.

During his tenure, which began in June 2022, Maxwell-Akinyemi spearheaded transformative initiatives that elevated and built Vatebra Academy from ground-up into a powerhouse of tech talent development. Leading a dynamic team of over 30 faculty and staff which he built ground-up, he built four digital schools and nine specialized programs, increasing the academy’s revenue and doubling its customer pipeline. Under his leadership, Vatebra Academy trained over 3,000 professionals—from entry-level to senior executives—in high-demand fields such as Data Science, Software Development, Product Management, UI/UX Design, Cybersecurity, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence.
Maxwell-Akinyemi’s strategic vision forged impactful partnerships with industry giants like Microsoft Nigeria social capitals, Bank of Industry, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), expanding Vatebra’s market reach to over 200,000 leads. His pioneering efforts also included the Vatebra Women-In-Tech Training project, which empowered women across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, and the Vatebra HR Business Summit, a flagship event with a platform for tech talent acquisition and development with industry stakeholders.
A champion of collaboration, Maxwell-Akinyemi represented Vatebra Limited at the Nigeria Technology Awards, where he celebrated the company clinching the coveted “Tech Company of the Year” title for the eighth time, alongside the “e-Government Consulting Company of the Year” award.
His outstanding contributions also positioned Vatebra Limited for national recognition, including its shortlisting as a training provider for the 3 Million Technical Talents (3MTT) initiative by the Federal Ministry of Communication, Innovation & Digital Economy—a major milestone in Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda. He also represented Vatebra as a delegate at the Policy Innovation Centre’s World Economic Summit’s Stakeholders’ Dialogue on Digital Transformation and served as a Resource Person for Global Entrepreneurship Week 2022

Reflecting on his journey, Maxwell-Akinyemi wrote , “I am deeply grateful for the opportunities provided to me and for the confidence you placed in my abilities to drive innovation, foster partnerships, and empower tech enthusiasts and professionals across Nigeria and beyond. The skills and experiences I have gained during my time here are invaluable, and I will carry them forward with immense pride.”
Beyond Vatebra, Maxwell-Akinyemi’s influence resonates globally. A Founding Curator of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community, President of Junior Achievement Nigeria Alumni, TEDx Speaker and Licensee, and Climate Reality Leader with former US Vice President Al Gore, he has earned accolades such as a Judge and resource person for the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning impact project sponsored by Chevron and NNPC (2025), the Outstanding Leader Award from the WEF Global Shapers Community (2024), JCI Nigeria’s Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the year Award (2023), TiBA Lagos Ambitious Professional of the Year (2022), Winner of the United States’ based BoomStartup Accelerator and the STRT
Community Award for Education (2021) and recognition as a Top 100 Exceptional Nigerian Youth by Junior Achievement Nigeria (2021). His entrepreneurial spirit also shines through Font Hall, a community-based tech talent accelerator he founded in 2022, aiming to raise 200,000 industry-ready tech professionals by 2030.
In his resignation letter addressed to Vatebra’s leadership, Maxwell-Akinyemi cited a desire to pursue new challenges aligned with his career aspirations. “This decision is motivated by my desire to explore new challenges and opportunities that align with my career goals.” he noted, adding that “I hope to maintain a positive relationship and look forward to staying in touch.” As he embarks on his next journey, he wished, “Vatebra Limited continued success in driving innovation and impacting lives.”
As Maxwell-Akinyemi steps into the next phase of his career, his departure leaves an indelible mark on Vatebra Limited and Nigeria’s tech ecosystem. Industry watchers anticipate that his next move will continue to shape the intersection of technology, education, and social impact—a space where he has consistently excelled.
