THISDAY Photographer, Ogunfuyi, Three Others to Present Artworks ‘Deconstructing Unity’ at National Museum Lagos

Happ Circle Gallery will be presenting the artworks of THISDAY Photographer, Kunle Ogunfuyi, Abdulrazaq Ahmed, Klara Nze Okhide, and Moses Oghagbon with the theme: ‘Deconstructing Unity’ at the National Museum in Onikan, Lagos, from April 25 to April 30 2025.
In a statement, they described the six-day exhibition as going to be exceptional as it will be showcasing photography, paintings, and installations spanning 10 years tailored to captivate the attention of the art community, illuminate fundamental principles and common bond that unites us as they embark on this profound journey towards reshaping our world.
“Art, as a product of human creativity, holds deep and far-reaching implications that resonate on a global level. It emerges as an expression of collective societal awareness. The ongoing discussion surrounding culture seeks to find a delicate equilibrium between the inherent worth of artwork as a cultural relic and the role of the artist, who stands as a pivotal figure in molding culture through their artistic pursuits.
“The artists extend an invitation to viewers and critics to unravel the underlying significance woven into their creations. These pieces encapsulate profound metaphors aimed at evoking a deeper comprehension from the audience.
“To authentically preserve our cultural legacy, we must infuse vitality into it. Fresh interpretations can be crafted to resonate with diverse social customs and position social themes in a new light.
“Our central theme, “Deconstructing Unity,” embodies the intricate artistry of collaboration showcased at the esteemed Argungu Festival in Kebbi State. Through our varied perspectives and refined methodologies, we strive to illuminate the shared principles that bind us together, fostering a deeper insight into how acknowledging differences can serve as a conduit to bridge divides.
