Changing the Narrative with Lagos Leather Fair

The Lagos Leather Fair (LLF) initiative seeks to showcase West Africa’s leading leather brands. It was created in 2017 by Femi Olayebi, the Creative Director of FemiHandbags — one of Africa’s premium leather accessories brands.

LLF is a solution-based retail and networking platform aimed primarily at promoting and showcasing the talent of leather designers in Nigeria and across the continent and creating awareness of the potential value of the leather industry.

This annual expo brings together stakeholders from across the leather value chain with a focus on finding sustainable solutions to move the industry forward, change the narrative within a misunderstood sector and begin to build an ecosystem that works.

It showcases the untapped yet massive potential of players within the Nigerian leather industry. It provides a much-needed platform for leather designers to display their products and their talent, partner with stakeholders to grow the Nigerian finished leather goods sector, and change the narrative within an industry that holds a fantastic potential to succeed as a significant foreign exchange earner.

This year, the Lagos Leather Fair is celebrating six game-changing years from the 17th to the 18th of June at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

There will be over 60 exhibitors, an exciting line-up of speakers and topical conversations. There will also be raw talents to exhibit new and timeless designs, brands and products with unmissable catwalks. As a side attraction, there is an extraordinary Bootcamp with over 3,000 visitors expected at the event.

With its line-up activities for this year, the leather fair aims to foster creativity, innovation, and economic growth within the leather industry.
