Monarch Prays for Blessings ahead of Ojude Oba Celebration in Ogun
Ahead of this year’s celebration of the renowned Ojude Oba festival in Ijebu Ode, the paramount ruler Awujale of Ijebuland, Kabiyesi Oba Sikiru Adetona, has affirmed the importance of flagging off the celebration with an appropriate traditional rite and prayers that assures blessings for indigenes and visitors to the kingdom.
This affirmation was made while hosting the staff and management of Seaman’s Aromatic Schnapps at his palace. The monarch, alongside his chief prayed for continued blessings upon the land and its subjects and for a successful celebration.
The paramount ruler extols Seaman’s Aromatic Schnapps, renowned as Nigeria’s number 1 original prayer drink and an enabler of blessings, for its efforts in preservation of culture, heritage, and importantly continued support of the annual celebration.
He admonished the Seaman’s team to be more relentless in bearing the torch of culture and tradition by becoming the official spirit of the festival.
While speaking at the palace, leader of the Seaman’s delegation and the Director of Mainstream Strategic Business Unit (SBU), Grand Oak limited, Busuyi Olofin, stated that Ojude Oba is known for its ability to unify people of different religious beliefs, showcases the power of blessings and prayers. He said Seaman’s Schnapps, as traditionally renowned for enabling blessings, intends to share its intent of blessings with the people of Ijebu through rewarding activities and exciting experiences during the festival.
He further said that the visit, which also holds immense significance for Seaman’s, aligns with the brand’s aim to continuously reinforce the significance of blessings in every aspect of life, and emphasizes the Awujale’s role as a unifying force and custodian of the culture and tradition of his people.
Also speaking during the courtesy visit, Marketing Manager of Grand Oak Limited, Mr. Gbemileke Lawal, highlighted the importance of paying respects to the Awujale. He also recognised the monarch’s influential position among traditional institutions and his unwavering dedication to preserving culture and tradition.
He emphasised that the visit was also a gesture to seek the Awujale’s blessings ahead of the festival.
Also present during the visit were Adebowale Bojuwade, Senior Brand Manager Schnapps, Sylvester Nwanze, Trade Marketing Manager , Ajala Bukunmi, Regional Business Manager, Benson Oluwafiropo, Activation Manager among others.
The Ojude Oba festival scheduled to take place on June 30, 2023, the theme for this year’s Ojude Oba festival is “Ojude Oba: A lesson in religious Harmony.” The theme underscores the festival’s commitment to promoting co- existence and unity among the people, emphasizing the pivotal role of religion. The festival, spearheaded by the esteemed Awujale, will feature 75 age grades, including 15 newly accredited ones making their debut at the event.
