We Will Tackle  Insecurity, Poverty, VP Assures Nigerians

The Vice President of Nigeria Kashim Shettima has assured Nigerians of more measures to tackle insecurity and poverty in the country.

Addressing journalists  shortly after paying Sallah homage to Sultan of Sokoto on Friday, he said ” be rest assured of more measures to safeguard the lives and properties of Nigerians.

He also assured that, their government would create more job opportunities to Nigeria  teeming youths 

While paying homage to the Sultan, Shettima said, the north was facing myriad of challenges, which he said required the support of all and sundry to be surmounted.

“I am here to represent Mr. President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu who asked me to convey his sallah greetings and well wishes to the Sultan.

He reaffirmed their loyalty to traditional institution in the country.

The vice president was accompanied by the Governor of Sokoto and Borno states, Ahmed Aliyu and Babagana Zulum as well as the former Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammadu Dingyadi and Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.

He advised Governor Aliyu to maintain good relationship with Senator Wamakko who is the APC’s leader in the state and the Sultanate Council.

Responding, Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar commended the new  government for the successes so far recorded.

“Is barely a month since your swearing in and you have done a lot within one month,” he said

On some of the policies of the present administration, the monarch said “we need to acknowledge some issue are so bad to some people but we must take decision to enable  us see the benefit later.

“We need to conform with the normal standard of reaching out to everybody  because communication is very important.

“We are here as your communicators because we discuss, we go and tell people that policy is important and changing policy is important for us to move forward. 

“We must always take people along to know what we are doing why we are doing it. And at the end of it, when things are better, they will say thank God.

“We will support you 100 percent, we will give you our words anytime. Insha Allah we will support the government and do whatever it takes to maintain peace in our state and the country,” he said
