In a recent election held at the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) Music House in Lekki, Pretty Okafor, the incumbent president who assumed office in August 2018, has been reelected to continue leading the association.

The election, which took place yesterday, marks Okafor’s successive tenure at the helm of the association.

In another development, musician Aralola Olamuyiwa, mononymously known as Ara, was issued a certificate of return as governor of the Lagos State Chapter of the association. Okafor noted her ascent to the position was a timely one, stating that the plans she has shared with the association will help reinvigorate the almost moribund status of the arm.

Sunny Neji and Zaaki Azzay, who serve as the first and second vice presidents of the association, have been re-elected to continue their roles alongside Okafor for a second term. Likewise, Ital Bonie is returning as the general secretary, and Michael Stevens, popularly known as Ruggedman, remains in his position as chairman of the media committee.

“At the end of the day, everything we do is to move the association forward, and hopefully, with the progress we’ve made so far, it will not be shortened, it will be continued because we have achieved a lot of feats,” Stevens remarked.

In the new dispensation, the executives reiterated their commitment to improving upon the blueprint that has led to attaining milestones such as the establishment of the PMAN Music House, providing health insurance to members tethered to the recently launched biometric card, as well as providing legal representation for its members.
