Baba-Kusa yesterday presented the legal documents of the land to the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Islamic centre, Prof. Ibrahim Sulaiman.

He said he and his family decided to give the land with the properties inside, to ICICE for the benefits of Muslim Ummah in Nigeria and beyond.

The custodian and pioneer sole financier of Al-Noor Mosque expressed gratitude to Allah for giving him the opportunity to be alive to fulfill his dream.

He expressed hope that the centre would continue to be a reference point and platform for the propagation of Islam.

“I thank God for giving me the opportunity to be here today because I have been down. On behalf of family and myself, we decided to give half of this entire land to ICICE for the benefits of Muslim Ummah. Half of the land is about 3.2 hectares, which includes the Mosque expansion, the school building, the parking lot and some other facilities which the Centre will decide what to do with it,” Baba-Kusa said.

Responding, Sulaiman, lauded the gesture as a good moment for Islam and called on well-meaning Muslims in the country to emulate him.

On his part, the Director-General of the centre, Dr. Kabir Usman, commended the founder and donor for his generosity and prayed to Allah to grant him mercy in this world and in the life after.

“ ICICE is proud and delighted with the contribution that has been made by our able and generous donor per excellence with names Alhaji Aminu Baba Kusa for donating a land with a building worth of billions, and also a Mosque that he built himself and worth of billions and even the fencing of the land worth of billions, likewise the Mosque expansion that he has also contributed significantly to make it happen. Once you can build human beings, a Mosque and school, you will never go astray in this life and the next life, so, why can’t we copy him,” Usman said.

He also revealed that the affair of the centre will be managed differently with a view to actualising the vision of establishing Al- Noor University.
