In its aim to facilitate and encourage dialogue on the advancement of the industry and preparation for the next decade, talent agency, AYKO, held a networking and social gathering that focuses on individuals with like minds in Nigeria’s creative sector
Tagged “A Social Gathering on Nigeria’s Creative Economy”, panelists engaged in a comprehensive discussion, dissecting the multifaceted layers of Nigeria’s vibrant creative industry. Attendees were treated to a series of insights, ranging from emerging trends to the economic impact of the creative industries.
AYKO’s social gathering also focused on ways to promote creative solutions and unlock opportunities within the creative sector. Emphasizing the agency’s commitment to promoting innovative solutions and unlocking opportunities within the creative industry, co-founder Koya Onagoruwa shared the agency’s mission.
He said: There’s a lot going on at the moment with Nigeria’s economy. AYKO from inception has always focused on the best way to ensure that we identify talents, we nurture them and showcase them to the world. We believe that having conversations about the creative industry will help support that mission of ours and we felt it was the right time to actually have such a conversation because right now we are looking for ways of generating income in Nigerian economy.”
Co-founder Ayoola Bakare stressed that the event is for industry leaders, stating that it primarily targeted at decision-makers in the sector.
“This event specifically is for seniors in the industry, it is basically focusing on the Nigerian economy, how can we make it better, who are the people already doing this and lets be very honest it is the decision makers that have this conversation not necessarily the creative. We do have events that focus on the creative but at the same time we are fully aware that we need the younger ones, the creative guys that have won our previous competition, there are some influencers, videographers that are in the space today but what’s important are the decision makers who are actually making that impact in the economy of Nigeria today.”
The keynote speaker, Vice President Trace TV, Sam Onyemelukwe charged attendees to carry on the conversation and take steps to build a structure for the evolving industry.
