The Peoples Democratic Party Governorship candidate in the March 18, governorship election in Sokoto, Mallam Sa’idu Umar, has congratulated four members of Peoples Democratic Party in the House of Representatives on their victory at the Court of Appeal.
A statement signed by the former governorship candidate says, “I join the PDP families in Sokoto State to felicitate with Hon. Mani Maishinko Katami, Hon. Muhammad Sa’idu Bargaja, Hon. Abdussamad Dasuki, and Hon. Bashir Usman Gorau, Members of the House of Representatives representing Federal Constituencies of Binji/Silame, Isa/Sabon Birni, Kebbe/Tambuwal and Gada/Goronyo respectively on their affirmation as legitimate winners by the Appellate Court in Abuja.
“Indeed our confidence in the judiciary as the last hope for the common man has been further strengthened by these landmark judgments. We anticipate a resounding victory in the remaining appeals. I pray that Allah shall grant them the willpower to deliver positively to their constituencies.
However, “my encouraging words go to my younger brother, Hon. Umar Yusuf Yabo, Member Representing Yabo/Shagari Federal Constituency whose election was declared inconclusive by the Appellate Court, I stand in solidarity with you, while optimistic that your unprecedented life-changing impact of 6 months stint in the National Assembly on your constituents will surely come to bear on the day of reckoning (re-run election). Rest assured, this judgment only delays your impending victory, at the very end.”
