Trade Minister Begins Tour of Industries Monday
The Minister of Trade, Industry and Investments, Doris Uzoka-Anite has commenced a tour of manufacturing companies across four states in Nigeria.
The Minister in a statement identified states to visit as Lagos, Ogun, and Kano , adding that the exercise was for four days.
She explained the purpose of the tour to improve ties between public sector and private businesses.
She said, ” We shall be visiting several leading manufacturing companies and plants, including Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc, Nigerian Bottling Company, Niger Biscuits Co. Ltd, and Beloxxi Industries Ltd, among others.”
Uzoka-Anite said she will also be visiting governors of identified states to strengthen the relationship between the federal and state government.
Speaking further on the essence of the tour, she said, ” The aim is to draw attention to the amazing work being done in our manufacturing sector and to the ways in which it affects our daily lives and economy. It is also to show the government’s steadfast backing for key sectors of the economy and our dedication to ongoing cooperation for expansion and advancement.
The visit will also highlight the commitment of the employees and manufacturing workers that form the core of these businesses, creating superior made-in-Nigeria products that can confidently compete with foreign goods on the international market”.
“This is a significant step towards recognizing the hard work and achievements of our manufacturing sector. It’s also a call to action for further innovation, quality improvement, and competitiveness in the global market.
“The tour is more than just a collection of stops; it serves as a link between the aspirations of the government and the realities of the manufacturing industry. It is a recognition of the industry’s contribution to innovation” the statement added.
